College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. Developed by College Board, CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program, available at more than 2,900 colleges and universities. Pass any of the 33 CLEP exams and achieve your college and career goals. Visit CLEP's website and the CLEP Candidate Information Bulletin for more information about the program and exams.

Important: Please check with your school prior to registering to be sure the specific exam you're taking will count for credit. Credit is not granted by the Roanoke Higher Education Center, but by your school.

CLEP also requires that you present two forms of ID when you arrive to take your test. One form needs to be a government-issued ID with both your photo and signature, such as a driverís license or passport. The secondary form of ID must include a photo and/or your signature, such as a student ID. Credit cards, your social security card, or employee ID cannot be accepted. Home-schoolers, if you do not have a student ID, you may complete a Student ID Form.
