College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. Developed by College Board, CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program, available at more than 2,900 colleges and universities. Pass any of the 33 CLEP exams and achieve your college and career goals. Visit CLEP's website and the CLEP Candidate Information Bulletin for more information about the program and exams. IMPORTANT: You must pay for your CLEP exam at http://clep.collegeboard.org before scheduling your exam. Bring your ticket voucher number from this transaction with you on the day of your test. Click here for detailed instructions on how to pay for your CLEP exam.

Please check with your school prior to registering to be sure the specific exam you're taking will count for credit. Credit is not granted by the Roanoke Higher Education Center, but by your school.

Effective July 1, 2014, one form of government-issued identification will be acceptable for CLEP test-takers. A secondary form of ID will no longer be required. The primary identification must be valid and current, must ear the test-taker's full name in English language characters, and must contain a photograph and a signature.

Distance Education Exam Proctoring

If you attend an out-of-state college or university, a college that does not provide testing services, or you participate in a distance learning program, we are available to proctor your exam. DSST

The nationally recognized DSST program helps you receive college credits for learning acquired outside of the traditional classroom through a suite of 38 exams in college subject areas. Over 2,000 colleges and universities recognize the DSST program and award college credit for passing scores. For more information about the program and its exams please visit DSST's website.
