Mountain Gateway Community College

Mountain Gateway Community College (formerly Dabney S. Lancaster Community College) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. The college is supported by the Commonwealth of Virginia; the counties of Alleghany, Bath, Botetourt (northern portion) and Rockbridge; the cities of Buena Vista, Covington, and Lexington; and the town of Clifton Forge.

MGCC has partnered with the Roanoke Higher Education Center in order to provide training in the ever-growing field of Massage Therapy – helping to strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

MGCC offers a variety of associate degrees including math & science, business, nursing, education, and general studies.  Career readiness programs include Administration of Justice, Business Management, Culinary, Electrical & Instrumentation.  Career studies certificates include Advanced Manufacturing Fundamentals, Baking and Pastry Arts, and Massage. MGCC also offers workforce and short-term training programs in the fields of Health Care, Skilled Trades, Welding, and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) and more.
