About the Program
MBU | Bachelor’s | Online – The Health Care Administration (HCA) major prepares students as administrators of health care programs and organizations. This program (the only endowed undergraduate program of its kind in the U.S.) is led by talented, experienced faculty and offers great networking opportunities.
Students can pursue a BA with a major in Health Care Administration. HCA majors can also add an emphasis in Public Health. Health Care Administration also is available as a minor.

Coursework for our HCA degree can be completed fully online through the university’s innovative Baldwin Online and Adult Programs. Just like in-person classes, the Blackboard-interface business program emphasizes the development of strong conceptual skills in tandem with practical applications. MBU helps you fast-track your path to a HCA degree with the opportunity to transfer up to 12 credits (4 courses) through direct course equivalents from the Virginia Community Colleges System as well as the ability to earn up to 6 credits for work experience.

Courses & Requirements
36+ Credit Hours
Need to meet major requirements (51) plus degree requirements (120) either through MBU or transfer course work; a minimum of 36 need to be taken through MBU.
The 4+1 pathway allows undergraduate students to move seamlessly into the Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program once you meet requirements.
