Directions to the Roanoke Higher Education Center (RHEC):
The Roanoke Higher Education Center (RHEC) is housed in the renovated Norfolk & Western Railroad building at 108 North Jefferson Street, next to the Hotel Roanoke. The main entrance closest to parking is on the west side of the building, facing Jordan Alley.

From 581 heading South, take Exit 5. Turn right onto Wells Ave. Proceed past the Hotel Roanoke and cross Jefferson St. Take next left into Jordan Alley to Parking Lot (1) (see numbered circle on map above).

From 220/581 heading North, take Exit 4E, immediately turn right onto Williamson Road. Proceed south to Wells Ave., and turn right onto Wells. Cross Jefferson St. and take the next left onto Jordon Alley to Parking Lot (1) (see numbered circle on map above).

Directions to the Claude Moore Education Complex (CMEC):
The Claude Moore Education Complex is located adjacent to the Roanoke Higher Education Center in the LEED Gold Certified building (formerly Strand Theater) located at 109 North Henry Street, across from the Dumas Center.
Where to Park:
All lots are owned by the City of Roanoke and operated under contract with the City by PARK Roanoke (540-343-0585). Parking is available as follows:

Visitor and Event Parking is located in Lots (1) and (3). A parking fee or monthly parking permit is required.
(1) - RHEC Surface Parking Lot (West Side of RHEC) - Must pay honor box PRIOR TO ENTERING the facilities.
(3) - Gainsboro Parking Garage (use entrance on Centre Ave.) - Payment is accepted upon EXIT before 4:00pm and upon ENTRANCE after 4:00pm. An attendant is stationed until 10:00pm at night.

Students may park in Lots (2) and (4) with an RHEC Student Parking Pass - issued by school.
(2) - Lot on Henry Street (gravel lot between Loudon Ave. and Wells Ave.).
(4) - Lot on Centre Avenue (gravel lot between Shenandoah Ave. and Henry St.).

PARKING FEES:
Monday through Friday - 7:00am to 9:00pm
$1 per HOUR or $5 per DAY
$2 flat rate when parking after 4:00pm

PARK Roanoke's Higher Education Center Lots and Gainsboro Garage are FREE ON WEEKENDS.

Parking validation for tickets issued from the Gainsboro Parking Garage (3) is available upon request for day rental clients, who will be billed for validated parking related to their event.

Important Student Information:
Students with a valid college-issued identification card, combined with a city-issued $1 coupon presented upon entering garage will receive a $1 discount on the evening flat rate for the Gainsboro Parking Garage.

Roanoke Higher Education Center lots (2) and (4) are FREE, but students MUST have the proper RHEC parking pass prominently displayed in the front window of the vehicle. Students will be ticketed if parked in lots other than (2) and (4) using an RHEC parking pass.

Monthly Parking Information:
Monthly parking permits are available for RHEC Surface Parking (1) and Gainsboro Parking Garage (3) during the day. Parking permits may be purchased from PARK Roanoke, located at 117 Church Ave. in downtown Roanoke (Phone: 540-343-0585). Parking is on a space available basis and pricing may vary.

Parking on the Street:
Students and staff may park on the City streets in designated areas for limited time periods. Read parking related signs carefully; parking regulations are strictly enforced. Students, faculty, and staff are requested not to park in residential areas.

Parking Safety:
As always, exercise caution going to and from your vehicle. Security is available upon request to accompany you to your vehicle and may be reached at 540-767-6001. Walking between parking areas and the Center in groups is always recommended.

Assistance for Persons with Handicaps/Disabilities:
The entrance for persons with handicaps/disabilities is located in the front of the West Entrance (Main Entrance) on Jordan Alley. There are designated handicap/disability parking spaces in the parking lot adjacent to the entrance. Both Valley Metro and Radar provide public transportation for those who require assistance.
