Senior Administrative Assistant (Full Time)

Organization: Roanoke Higher Education Authority

Description: The Roanoke Higher Education Authority (RHEA) has a full time position available for an individual interested in providing administrative support to the Executive Director and the Executive Team of the authority. The successful applicant will perform routine to difficult administrative and technical duties including but not limited to: serving as secretary to the governing boards for both the RHEA and its related foundation; performing administrative human resources functions; facilitation and maintenance of leases; maintaining several data bases that require data collection and report generation using spreadsheets and database management software.

Applicants must be well organized, detail oriented, have the ability to research issues, locate information, formulate, and execute an action plan. The ideal individual will exercise good judgement using strong written and verbal communication, excellent organizational skills, and will handle confidential matters with discretion while prioritizing multiple duties and responsibilities. The Senior Administrative Assistant works under general supervision, but must have the ability to work independently.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Three to five years related experience in a business administrative or academic support environment
  • Experience in providing administrative services in a professional office setting, responding to multiple priorities, and supporting more than one executive

Educational Testing Assistant (Full Time)

Organization: Roanoke Higher Education Authority

Description: The Roanoke Higher Education Authority (RHEA) has a full time position available for an individual interested in working 40 hours/week Monday through Saturday with some evening hours. Duties include checking identification, admission, seating, and monitoring of examinees, in support of the administration of computerized and paper-based college, state, industry, and national tests and assessments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Very strong computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • At least one year of customer service experience

Applicants must be available to work two Saturdays per month and must be willing to work a flexible schedule during the week, which may include morning and occasional evening hours.
