Donate Unwanted Books to TAP Books

Don’t let your unused books end up in the landfill – donate your books to TAP! Total Action for Progress (TAP) has started a book donation program with the goal of supporting its mission of helping individuals and families achieve economic and personal independence.

The program will also provide free books to people participating in TAP programs and will create jobs in our community. The program will accept donations of books, audio books, DVDs, CDs, and tapes.

Drop-off locations are listed on TAP’s website. All donations are tax-deductible.

TAP board members are excited about this new community program:
  • “TAP is a respected community-based organization serving the needs of vulnerable families across the region. Donating used books and other media is great way to support their work and help the environment too. That is why Carter Bank & Trust will be hosting drop-off points for donations at our branch locations in Roanoke in December and January.” –Kevin Lockhart
  • “Nobody wants to put a book in the trash can—and they shouldn’t, especially if they can donate it to a worthy organization like TAP. There is no reason for a book to ever end up in the landfill.” – Craig Balzer
  • “This new initiative is not just about earning income to support TAP’s many programs, but it will also help TAP create jobs in the community to help clients in its programs gain work experience and skills. To help make donating as easy as possible, TAP is willing to come to people’s homes to pick up larger donations. You just have to call or email to schedule a pickup.” – John D’Orazio
