GED Preparation and Basic Academic Skills

About the Program

Region 5 | Testing Preparation | On-site – Roanoke Valley – Alleghany Region 5 Adult Education works with local school divisions and community partners to offer GED Preparation and Basic Academic Skills Classes in Alleghany County, Botetourt County, Covington City, Craig County, Roanoke City, Roanoke County, and Salem City. In addition, English Language Acquisition (ELA) classes are offered in several locations across Roanoke City and Roanoke County.  Region 5 will soon be offering the National External Diploma Program (NEDP) to students who desire to earn an Adult High School Diploma by providing a portfolio of work instead of timed testing.

All classes are FREE to adult students seeking to earn a GED® credential.

Courses & Requirements

GED Preparation and Basic Academic Skills Classes will focus on preparing students to take and pass the tests required to obtain a GED Credential. In addition, students may enroll to receive basic academic skills instruction needed to enter post-secondary institutions or other training programs.

Cost

No cost for class. Enrollment fee & purchase of workbooks may be required.
